Polish folk dances

Our students prepared the presentation about typical Polish dances.

1.OBEREK -is a Polish folk dance and is the fastest of the five National Dances of Poland. The Oberek consists of quick steps and constant turns. The beauty of the oberek depends on each individual dancer's talent of spinning at the fast tempo of the Oberek, which shares some steps with the Mazur.

2.MAZUR-  folk dance in triple meter, usually at a lively tempo, and with accent on the second or third beat.
3.POLONEZ - is a slow dance  in 3/4 time. It is always a first dance at a "studniĆ³wka" ("hundred-days"), the Polish equivalent of the students' prom that occurs approximately 100 days before exams.
4.KUJAWIAK - The music is in triple meter and fairly slow. This folk dance usually involves couples walking gracefully in a quarter-note rhythm, on slightly bended knees, with relaxed turns and gently swaying.
5.KRAKOWIAK - is  fast and is set for several couples, among whom the leading male dancer sings and indicates the steps.
